GULFSTREAM'S SAVANNAH SERVICE CENTER AWARDED FAA'S DIAMOND CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE
Award Recognizes Gulfstream's Commitment to Service Training
Savannah, Ga., Jan. 17, 2001 -- Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation's Savannah service center was awarded the Federal Aviation Administration's Diamond Certificate of Excellence Award. The award is the agency's top honor for recognizing an organization's commitment to service training.
"Gulfstream has made a significant commitment to our service organization over the past year with a special emphasis on training," said Larry Flynn, senior vice president of aircraft services. "At our Savannah Service Center alone, we invested $2 million and nearly 80,000 man hours in training."
Individual technicians reach the Diamond Award level by receiving a minimum of 100 hours of training. Company recognition is achieved when more than 25% of eligible employees reach this training milestone.
"We are dedicated to providing the most highly trained and professional service technicians in the industry," said Flynn."We are honored that the FAA has recognized our commitment."
The award was presented by the FAA's Atlanta Flight Standards District Office.
