GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE HIRES KURT ERBACHER AS VICE PRESIDENT, ENGINEERING DEVELOPMENT
SAVANNAH, Ga., May 18, 2001 - Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation has hired Kurt Erbacher as vice president for its GIV-X program. He will lead the design, development and certification of the next generation of Gulfstream IV aircraft.
Prior to joining Gulfstream, Erbacher was chief engineer for Lockheed Martin Aircraft and Logistics Centers, where he was responsible for all aerospace engineering disciplines - design, analysis, manufacturing, systems integration, test reliability and technical publications. He also was responsible for prototype development, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification, ground and flight test, and contractor oversight.
"A highly motivated and energetic planner, organizer and coordinator with military, international and commercial aerospace management experience, Kurt will do a great job leading the team through the development process," said Pres Henne, senior vice president, programs.
Erbacher also worked for Piedmont Airlines as a senior structural engineer and for Grumman Aerospace as a stress analyst. He currently holds FAA designated engineering representative ratings in structures, damage tolerance, interiors and mechanical.
A graduate of the Lockheed Senior Management Institute, Erbacher earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
