GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE APPOINTS DON PETERSEN VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER
SAVANNAH, Ga., Aug. 12, 2003 -Gulfstream Aerospace has appointed Don Petersen vice president and general manager of Gulfstream's Appleton, Wis. site. Serving as general manager of the Appleton site since February 2000, Petersen oversees the site's two business activities - the final phase of manufacturing on Gulfstream G100, G300 and G400 business jets and after-market service and maintenance for the entire product line of Gulfstream aircraft and other business jet aircraft.
"Don has assumed various job responsibilities since he joined Gulfstream in 1996," said Joe Lombardo, chief operating officer, Gulfstream. "He has consistently met the challenges of the business. Additionally, he has been a driving force in the growth and profitability of the Appleton facility."
Before joining Gulfstream as a hangar manager in Savannah, Petersen worked for an aircraft outfitter - first as an airframe shop manager and then as a service marketing representative.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Petersen held the rank of sergeant while working as a crew chief on the B-52 bomber aircraft. He studied at the University of Nebraska and Doane College and is scheduled to complete his bachelor's degree in accounting next year. Petersen also is a licensed airframe and powerplant mechanic
