GULFSTREAM APPOINTS DARRELL FREY GENERAL MANAGER OF SAVANNAH SERVICE CENTER
SAVANNAH, Ga., Aug. 18, 2003 --Darrell Frey has been appointed general manager, Savannah Service Center, Gulfstream Aerospace. In his new role, he will be responsible for all aircraft services performed on Gulfstream business jets in the Savannah facility.
For the past two years, Frey has served as general manager of the General Dynamics Aviation Services West Palm Beach aircraft service center. Both General Dynamics Aviation Services and Gulfstream Aerospace are wholly owned subsidiaries of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).
"Darrell did a wonderful job in transitioning West Palm Beach into a world-class facility and growing the business there over the past two years," said Larry Flynn, president, Gulfstream Product Support. "We look forward to his return to Savannah."
Frey joined Gulfstream in 1987 as an aircraft maintenance technician and later was promoted to crew chief and then to manager of Savannah Service Center operations.
Frey served in the U.S. Navy, working on TC-4C aircraft for three years. He holds an airframe and powerplant (A&P) certification and is a member of the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association. Frey earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Trinity University.
