GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE PROMOTES MICHAEL FELIPE TO DIRECTOR OF POWER PLANT AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEERING

SAVANNAH , Ga. , July 2, 2007 – Michael Felipe has been promoted to director of power plant and environmental control systems engineering for Gulfstream Aerospace. He will be responsible for technical development, certification and engineering support of aircraft engines, auxiliary power units (APUs), fuel, fire protection, water/waste and environmental control systems (ECS).

Felipe joined Gulfstream seven years ago as a Federal Aviation Administration Designated Engineering Representative (DER) and technical specialist. He’s held several positions including design engineer for the electronic engine control, thrust reverser and APU systems on the G450 and G350 business jets and group head of the Electronic Systems Engineering department. He most recently served as manager of power plant and environmental control systems engineering.

Prior to Gulfstream, Felipe spent 11 years at Boeing Commercial Airplane Group in Seattle as a DER and lead engineer. He also served for four years in the U.S. Air Force where he worked on various types of aircraft, including reconnaissance, trainers, refueling tankers and cargo aircraft.

Felipe earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, Davis. He is a 19-year member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers.
