GULFSTREAM NAMES BARRY RUSSELL VICE PRESIDENT OF CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Becky Johnson Appointed Vice President and General Manager Of Gulfstream Facility
In Long Beach, Calif.
SAVANNAH, Ga., August 11, 2008 –Gulfstream Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has appointed Barry Russell vice president, Customer Support. Russell formerly served as vice president and general manager of the Gulfstream facility in Long Beach, Calif. Becky Johnson has been appointed to that post.
In his new position, Russell oversees the worldwide Customer Support organization and the service provided to customers of the Gulfstream facilities in Savannah, Ga., and Luton, England, as well as the General Dynamics Aviation Services facility in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Russell has been with Gulfstream for 31 years. Before becoming vice president and general manager of Long Beach, he was general manager of the Brunswick, Ga., Gulfstream facility. Russell has also worked in manufacturing, product support and quality control.
Additionally, Russell spent seven years with the Ramstein C-20A Contractor Logistics support operation in Germany, where he held a number of field-service positions, including site manager.
Russell earned a bachelor’s degree in professional aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a master’s degree in business administration from California Coast University. He also has an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
Russell reports to Mark Burns, president, Product Support and General Dynamics Aviation Services.
Johnson, in succeeding Russell, oversees all Long Beach operations. She joined Gulfstream in 1998, most recently serving as the director of product support at Long Beach. Prior to that, she was the facility’s director of final phase operations.
Before joining Gulfstream, Johnson served as a senior manufacturing manager at McDonnell Douglas Corp., specializing in aircraft installations and modifications.
Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix and a master’s in business administration from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona.
Johnson reports to Burns and Dennis Stuligross, senior vice president, Operations.
